About Us

Near by the broken bridge which is the symbol of this battle and most important exhibit, there is a Museum „ The Battle for Wounded of Neretva“ which was opened in November the 12th 1978 in ocassion of marking the 35th aniversairy of battle on Neretva.

The projectants of museum are: dipl. Engeneers of arhitecture: Branko Tadić, Zdravko Dundjerovic and Mustafa Ramic from Sarajevo. Overall surface of the Museum is 3312 square meters. Inside the compound of Museum, next to the exhibition display area of „Battle on Neretva“, there are stagings of 4th corp of Army of BiH and Jablanica ethno house.In the building of the museum, next to the exhibition area, there are lobby and small hall for occasional indoor events, a big hall with 500 seats and a library with a reading room.

The city library's been placed inside the Museum „Battle for Wounded on Neretva“ since February the 22nd 1984. The library is in disposal over 10000 books. Since it's opening, the Museum has been visited by over 3 million visitors.

The central manifestation of 65th aniversairy was marked on 26th april 2008 in a presence over 3000 visitors all over Bosnia and Herzegovinia, Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia.

The Museum the Battle for Wounded on Neretva is 80 kilometers South of Sarajevo and 45 kilometers North of Mostar
